Our Strategies
At Voice of Encouragement Tanzania (VET), we employ innovative, inclusive, and evidence-based strategies to drive transformative change for girls and women across Tanzania. Our approaches address systemic inequalities and empower rightsholders to lead the fight against gender-based violence (GBV), child marriage, unintended pregnancies, and economic marginalization.
Advocacy and Policy Engagement
We influence systemic change by working closely with policymakers, community leaders, and stakeholders through workshops and policy campaigns. By championing re-entry guidelines for girls forced out of school and promoting gender-responsive policies, we secure high-level political commitment to safeguarding girls' and women’s rights.
Grassroots Mobilization and Awareness Campaigns
Our inclusive campaigns have reached over 135,000 girls and women, challenging harmful norms and promoting SRHR, child marriage prevention, and the fight against child sexual abuse. With 8+ national campaigns and 50+ SRHR mobile clinics deployed, we ensure marginalized communities access critical health services.
Empowering Girls and Young Women as Leaders
We equip girls and young women to lead through initiatives like 14+ Chainbreakers Clubs across 4 regions, capacity-building workshops for community leaders, and platforms for young advocates to co-create campaigns that inspire transformative change.
Economic Empowerment Initiatives
By supporting over 23 businesses led by out-of-school girls and women, we foster financial independence. Through training in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and market linkages, we empower women to disrupt cycles of poverty and achieve sustainable growth.
